• Do not eat anything toasted, sticky (chewing gum), or hard (ice cream, donuts).
  • Do not eat jocote (milk sweets).
  • Do not tear anything with your front teeth (eat with a knife and fork).
  • Maintain good oral hygiene with a special orthodontic toothbrush and use mouthwash and toothpaste specifically designed for patients undergoing orthodontic treatment (Ortho Kin or Odent Ortho).
  • Braces should stay shiny like new. Use orthodontic wax in case of discomfort; place the wax over the braces where it is bothering or hurting.
  • Use KinCare gel in case of canker sores or any mucosal injury caused by brackets or wires rubbing together.
  • Always use an appropriate interdental brush from the gum to the tooth. Use appropriate flossing in the interproximal space.
  • Take pain relievers (Enantyum, Novalgin, paracetamol) if you experience pain as prescribed by a doctor.
  • Do not use wooden dental picks.
